A Kyoto garden takes root on Airport Road

A Kyoto garden takes root on Airport Road

“Laid out on the southern edge by Masao Sone, a master gardener from Kyoto. Made for slow walks and long pauses.”

Laid out on the southern edge of the estate by Masao Sone, a master landscape architect from Kyoto, this tranquil space is designed for contemplative walks, quiet mornings, and deep restoration.

Traditional Japanese garden design relies on shakkei (borrowed scenery) and ma (the conscious awareness of space). Every boulder was individually sourced and rotated into orientation, aligning with Bengaluru's natural wind patterns and solar angles.

"A garden is not merely an ornament; it is an environment that teaches stillness."

Meandering stone pathways, native moss varieties, gently cascading water basins, and shaded bamboo groves create an enclave where the bustling energy of Airport Road simply fades away.
